We recognize our duty to support the communities we serve. Our aim is to leverage our strengths to benefit those around us and the broader environment. As a firm and as individuals, we strive to do what is right and create a positive impact.
Stephen Hodgson & Co. Solicitors actively engages in a variety of initiatives that support individuals and groups within our local communities. Our involvement primarily focuses on projects that foster the development of young people through education, sports, and the arts, as well as medical research and selected local community enterprises.
Environment
In addition to our commitment to our people, clients, and communities, we also prioritize our responsibility to the environment. We are dedicated to reducing the environmental impact of our operations, concentrating on four key areas: transport, energy, paper, and waste.
Our efforts to reduce energy consumption include implementing energy-efficient lighting systems, utilizing video conferencing, and executing a power-saving server virtualization project. Collectively, these initiatives have resulted in a more than 20% reduction in electricity usage, translating to nearly 130,000 kWh saved, or approximately 70 tonnes of CO2 emissions avoided.
To minimize paper usage, we have adopted on-site recycling practices, double-sided printing, and email communication with clients whenever feasible. Independent assessments suggest that our recycling efforts are equivalent to saving around 230 trees annually.
We are also in the process of achieving ISO27001 accreditation, a globally recognized standard for business operations concerning security, safety, and efficiency.
